Patient Forms
On your first visit to our office in San Jose, we will welcome you with open arms as if you were a member of our family. Our team member will greet you with warmth, friendliness and respect. We will then ask you to fill out our required forms, unless you already had them completed prior to arriving. These forms will help us gain important information about you and your condition.
Consultation
Next you will have a consultation with Dr. Christy Ryoo to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for Dr. Christy Ryoo to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care meet your goals. If we can help you, the doctor will let you know. If we cannot help you, you will be refered to another doctor in San Jose that will be able to help you the most. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Examination
After a thorough consultation in our San Jose office with the doctor, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This will include testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard orthopedic, neurologic, postural, and physical examinations. A state of the art computerized spinal scan (surface EMG) will also be performed to obtain important information. The doctor will gain valuable information regarding your condition so that a better understanding can be made of how chiropractic can help you.
X-Ray Studies
The use of x-rays is normally required to perform a full evaluation of a patient. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Our x-ray equipment is state of the art for imaging, as we use a high frequency x-ray system. This helps to reduce and minimize radiation to the patient. Please ask the doctor if you have any concerns about x-ray use and safety.
Report of Findings
After we have gathered all the necessary information from your examination and x-rays, the doctor will carefully review all the facts of your specific case. She will then present to you her Report of Findings, which will explain the cause and reason for your pain or problem. A treatment plan for getting you well will be discussed at this time as well.You will find that Dr. Ryoo's Report of Findings is the most thorough and informative that you will ever receive.
Treatment
Upon your consent, you will receive your first chiropractic adjustment. Most of our patients begin to see results from the very first adjustment. Our special gentle yet effective alignment of the spine and body is interactive with the patient, gentle enough for kids (they love us), yet able to restore function and movement for the athlete and senior.
Our office participates in many insurance programs. We also accept auto accident liens. Wellness Program
Prior to leaving, patients will be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, our wellness team will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success. Every body is unique and different and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan. The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking supplements, keeping your weight under control and stress relief.
